5. They Were leaving the house when the phone started ringing. (leave)


6.The clients at the rental agency Were complaining about the quality of the cars they got. (complain)


7 The accident occurred because a car Was weaving through traffic. (weave)


8. Why was your girlfrieng at the mall when online shopping is so much easier? ( your girlfriend / shop) 


WORKED IN CLASS:


Put the words in order and write sentences. If a sentence can be written in two ways, write it both ways.


1. dropped / Margo / off / the car 

Margo dropped off the car. OR Margo dropped the car off.

2. up / it / Sam / picked

Sam. Picked it UP.

3 . the tank / filled / I / up 

I filled the tank up. OR I filled up the tank. 

4. can't / turn / on / Sue / the headlights

Sue cant turn them on. OR sue can’t turn on the headlights.

I Can’t turn them off.

He’d like to drop it off at noon

Willam has picked up the car. OR william has picked the car up.
